Joy

The Holidays are a time of JOY.  Yet, so many of us find it difficult to create or spread any Joy due to circumstances, that we cannot seem to overcome. Here are a few tips to help bring out that joyous feeling during holidays:

1. Money – Holidays can be a time of overspending and mounting credit card bills. If you are suffering financially, take heed and only do what you can for the little ones. Christmas is for the children and you do not have to be Santa Claus.

2. Connection – Make some time to connect with friends and family. Many of us live far away from family and we can feel disconnected, and depressed if we see others celebrating with family etc. on social media. Volunteering is also a great way to feel connected to others.

3. Unplug – Get offline and go outside.  You do not need to have your phone in your back pocket at all times. When you are feeling tight and constricted, stop and go outside. Feel the warmth of the sun and receive much needed vitamin D. Take a brisk walk to help release stress and to let go of anxiety. Start your self care routines to keep you healthy this season.

4. Be Yourself, everyone else is taken! –  It’s about damn time that we stop comparing ourselves to others. You are lovingly made and perfectly divine exactly as you are. This does not mean that we don’t have areas of our lives to continue to work on, but that we accept who we are. And, We love our bodies exactly as they are right NOW.  Let’s celebrate each other and continue to uplift one another, grounding ourselves in Love & Joy.

Surround yourself with people that love You exactly as You are this Holiday season!
