Wedding a la Orange

One of Pantone colors for this year 17-1462 Flame (Orange) is a great color to design the perfect summer wedding. The meaning of the color orange is vitality & endurance, people who like orange are said to be thoughtful & sincere. As red is associated with fiery heat, orange is associated with the warmth of the sun, orange has a bit less intensity or aggression than red, calmed by the cheerfulness of yellow. It is a dynamic color which brings with characteristics of curiosity & wanting to try new things. This color is my absolute favorite and it comes in different shades and tones. I am sure you will find one that will be perfect for you, from light or pastel oranges to deep burnt or zesty oranges and tangerines.

Tropical orange flowers against a white or ivory wedding dress could look absolutely divine, not to mention bright orange bridesmaids dresses or an orange colored wedding cake.

The bride who wants to take it over the top will want to incorporate the color into her dress, and an orange Wedding Gown is totally unique and just Fabulous.

This color has been used in wedding decor for years and just about every color will compliment the vivid Orange. My Niece used Orange/Fuchsia for her Caribbean themed wedding ten years ago and I have seen that combo recently in magazines.  More wedding themes with orange are here, herehere, and here.  Which wedding color is your fave?

Looking at my closet right now and I own not one orange item. My guess is that the color does nothing for me. Same as the fruit. But have to admit the orange bouquet is pretty.

The dress and the shoes with the bows are TDF! Orange is a happy color. Orange/fuchsia sounds like a fun color combination, I need to try this. Right now I am totally in love with an orange bag and I am trying very very hard to behave myself, repeating like a mantra…I am NOT to purchase that bag………..
big big hugs, my beautiful and happy sis

This is interesting, I am not sure if I would have chosen orange as a color for my wedding simply because it reminds me of fruit – oranges and mangos and not so much anything else. However, if I were ever to get married again, it might be on an Island and then, yes, it could be part of the color scheme but not the dominant color.

I love to see the color orange on you, Neti, but it is not my personal favorite. It brings that glow when you wear it. But that cake would definitely make it to my table if I were to get married again.

You know I love color theory, so I am all about this post. I thought it was interesting how you talked about orange being a blend of the characteristics of red and yellow. I love pink, and it’s really just a softened red. Passionate becomes bubbly, womanly becomes feminine, fiery becomes playful, etc. I love the idea of using orange and fuchsia for a wedding palette. I’m sure your niece’s wedding was a vibrant and lively affair!
